NVCSS CFO's Milestone at the Breaking Bread Initiative

Collaboration is key when it comes to addressing food insecurity and connecting individuals with essential resources. The Breaking Bread Initiative at Chico's Iverson Center serves as a hub for agencies working together to support the unhoused population in Butte County. For the Northern Valley Catholic Social Service (NVCSS) CalFresh Outreach (CFO) team, attending this event was more than just an opportunity to show support - it was the first step toward establishing meaningful partnerships that will help bridge the gap between food assistance programs and the people who need them most.

At the Breaking Bread Initiative, NVCSS CFO team supported Bryce, a CalFresh Healthy Living (CFHL) educator, and engaged in strategic networking with local agencies. The event created opportunities to establish connections with three community organizations that expressed interest in partnering with NVCSS CFO to better support individuals and families seeking food assistance. The Breaking Bread Initiative serves as a collaborative space where local agencies unite to address food insecurity and homelessness. By participating, the NVCSS CFO team took an essential step in broadening its outreach efforts and ensuring its services reach those in need more effectively. The connections made at the event have opened the door for future collaboration, including hosting a table at upcoming initiatives, allowing direct interaction with attendees.

By participating in the Breaking Bread Initiative and forming new partnerships, NVCSS CFO team continues to make strides toward expanding its community impact. These collaborations will enable the team to further assist individuals and families in accessing food assistance, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts to create healthier, more connected communities.
